Product Owner

The Product Owner assumes responsibility for defining and prioritizing the product backlog, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring the successful delivery of a high-quality product. Serving as the liaison between the development team and stakeholders, they represent the voice of the customer, making critical decisions about product features and requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap.

  • Gather and analyze customer and market insights to identify user needs and opportunities.

  • Define and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with the product vision and strategy.

  • Draft clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria to communicate product requirements to the development team.

  • Work closely with the development team to ensure a shared understanding of the product vision and requirements.

  • Provide guidance and direction to the development team during sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily stand-up meetings.

  • Make decisions on product features, scope, and prioritization based on business value and customer feedback.

  • Conduct user acceptance testing and validate that delivered features meet defined acceptance criteria.

  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality product increments.

  • Regularly communicate with stakeholders, providing updates on the product's progress and addressing concerns or questions.

  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the product's performance, gathering feedback and data to drive product improvements.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in product management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in an Agile software development environment.

  • In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.

  • Strong knowledge of product management concepts and practices, including product discovery, user-centered design, and product lifecycle management.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, focusing on translating customer needs into actionable product requirements.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and initiatives simultaneously.

  • Familiarity with product management tools and software, such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar.

  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills, driving consensus and making tough prioritization decisions.

  • Experience with user research and usability testing is a plus.

  • Knowledge of the software development process and technical background is beneficial.

  • Certification in Agile or Product Management is desirable.
